SYNOPSIS
More clear throw water
Action/Performance in the town of Buena Vista (Andalgalá – Catamarca) for the 8th Edition of RAICES – Artistic Residence. On Provincial Route 48 in front of the gas station and bus stop, with our hearts in our throats but with our hands firm, letting the water follow its course and natural deformation. 15 minutes that record the fading of a message that no one wants to see and is surpassed by those who live in one of the departments most exploited by the mega-mining in the NOA, specifically the Aconquija snow-capped mountains. The power in the gesture of wetting the street, the sidewalk, watering, as long as we have water left. “Water for life” is the phrase that always resonates every Saturday in the marches of Andalgalá, but the rest of the days the collective thought of the other neighbors is once again stuck in a routine. My people seem to disappear little by little, like these wet words, full of pain and sorrow. Repressions, persecutions, enclosures, bullets, are endured. Persistence is the true RESISTANCE. We resist in order not to die, in order not to abandon our place, our land that fathers, mothers and grandparents inherited from us. Since I was 7 years old my dad made me understand only one thing…. Water will disappear if we do not fight for it, and I am making my contribution here.
