2022: JURY’s MENTIONS : MENCIONES del JURADO

Preliminary words

This year we continue with the Festival in VIRTUAL mode, adding 2 on-site events: the Inauguration with a new IMPRO concert of the sOnOraje series at the Peras de Olmo – ARS CONTINUA space – which hosts the Festival as a venue -, and the closing event Co.De. / Decolonial Constellations on Action-Art a collective performance encounter in simultaneity in a public place.

The spirit of this Festival is investigative, and our CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS proposes an approach of a certain curatorial character to observe the wide field of production of works and the different modes of interaction of performance with the audiovisual field, notably affected by the imposed social distancing during and in the relative post-pandemic period. The focus on the collective for our 2022 CALL has also been a consequence of that experience of isolation as a norm imposed by the phenomenon of the global pandemic.

Our CALL FOR PROPOSALS are Non-Competitive. All selected works are considered equally valuable and we are committed to deepen their particularities through analytical CONVERSATIONS in group format, which will take place during 2023 between July and October. These CONVERSATIONS, as well as the INTERVIEWS and other live broadcasts we do, remain published openly and free of charge on our YouTube Channel CINEplusPERFO / Internacional Festival BsAs-AR.

The SELECTED WORKS will remain available until the end of December and will be exhibited again on the YT CINEplusPERFO Channel during the period of the analytical CONVERSATIONS, between July and October. Audiences will be able to Nominate their favourite pieces through a form linked in the header of the information accompanying each Work on YouTube.

Although our Festival is Non-Competitive, this year’s Jury was invited to generate Special Mentions of works as individual members and/or as a collective in case of unanimous agreement, in order to instigate an enhancement of observation and reading criteria, offering artists a careful consideration of their works. In several cases the members of the Jury gave us some reflective words about the works they chose to highlight and that the artists will have the joy of receiving.
