STATEMENT
I am interested in the relationship between my self and others, and how I am the “other” of the “other”, with its implications for the construction of my own self as an artist, in an era where the image of the other is validated through the use of technology; in particular, I am interested in the use of surveillance technology as a means of exploring our relationship with the perceived world of the “other”. From this starting point, I am also interested in the analysis and reflection of power relations between the poles perceived as “masculine” and “feminine” through the establishment of binary relations in all spheres of human activity. With this, I also seek to interact with the socio-political relations between the “dominant” and “dominated” poles of humanity.
WORKSHOPS
I have worked in teaching performance from several approaches: first a phenomenological approach, which allows students to experience the practice from the fundamental elements of the discipline, such as the body, space, time and the virtual; secondly, a methodological approach, focusing research on the various methodologies that artists often use when facing the creation of their works; in this way students produce durational works, site-specific, with install-action, etc.. In the most advanced workshops, students get to experience up to 13 different methodologies in the elaboration of their works.
In the last time (particularly in pandemic and after it), I have developed teaching in online and hybrid performance creation, in order to expand the range of possibilities that students have when creating their works.
In all my workshops the teaching of the history of performance art is a key aspect of learning, and especially the emphasis is given to a non-linear look at the events that have given rise to the discipline, as well as the multicultural and universal genesis of its genesis.
