2022 CALL : ANNOUNCEMENT of SELECTED Works
November 26, 2022. Buenos Aires ARGENTINA
On behalf of the members of this year’s JURY and the Cine+Perfo team, we thank you for your support to this festival by sending your work in response to our call and for the opportunity to get in touch with the proposal it displays.
The spirit of this Festival is investigative, and our CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS proposes an approach of a certain curatorial character to observe the wide field of production of works and the different modes of interaction of performance with the audiovisual field, notably affected by the imposed social distancing during and in the relative post-pandemic period. The focus on the collective for this CALL is also a consequence of that experience of isolation as a norm imposed by the pandemic phenomenon, which, although much more attenuated, still crosses us.
The response to this CALL for entries has been very interesting and tripled in number, even though it was a short call for a festival in its beginnings and that does not aim at massiveness. Our JURY, this time composed of artists from very diverse cultural contexts, whereas last year’s JURY was composed of only argentine artists, in both cases embodied an exemplary collection of experience and commitment to the practice of performance.
It has been a pleasure to view all the pieces received and an intense selection process that left us with 34 SELECTED PIECES out of a total of 103 received and 8 SPECIAL MENTIONS from the JURY.
