CINE+PERFO
International Festival of Performance-art and Audiovisual Formats (FIPFA), addresses the confluences and developments between two artistic fields from their production of critical thinking and experimentation: performance and audiovisual. It is a new institutional arm of Peras de Olmo – Ars Continua, independent space dedicated to the exhibition and exchanges in performance and other time-based artistic practices, emerged in 2011 as an expanded work of the artist Graciela Ovejero Postigo, its founder and director. The address of this space I quote in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires – Argentina, is its main headquarters, and nomadic co-headquarters as the programming developments are constituted.
NON-COMPETITIVE FESTIVAL
Our Festival is non-competitive, there are no hierarchical awards, the Selection of Works functions as a curatorship. The selection criteria vary among the members of the Honorable Jury that collectively shapes the annual Edition, but the principle that persists is to Select Works, not authors. Thus, the trajectories behind the works presented have only a contextual and informative meaning. Works are selected for their diverse qualities and contributions to the multi-disciplinary fields of Performance Art in relation to Audiovisual Formats, as well as their interpretation and deepening of the Festival’s curatorial proposal.
JURY
Annually we invite an Honorable Jury that establishes the Selection of Works that will be shown on our YouTube channel, where all the information received about them is also published, as well as the access to a form where the Audiences can express their Votes of Preference and comment on the Works.
SPECIAL MENTIONS of the JURY
The Jury is composed of artists with extensive experience in the field of contemporary performance art, active in various roles as performance artists, curators and researchers. The members of the Jury are invited to make Special Mentions as a group and as individual members of the Jury, highlighting certain works with a brief written justification that the Jury presents at the Festival’s Final online event, together with all the participating artists of the Selected Works.
ANALYTICAL CONVERSATIONS
From mid-September onwards, the Festival’s management organizes public conversations of direct transmission via Zoom-YouTube with the artists of the past selection. These ANALYTICAL CONVERSATIONS in group format, serve to re-screen and re-disseminate the Selected Works of the previous edition, meet their authors and is a way to accompany the process of the current CALL for entries until the opening of the Festival on November 2.
